Within the coming weeks, our Biodiversity Net Gain units will be registered with Natural England.
We work alongside RSK Habitat Management as our responsible body to ensure our BNG units meet the requirements of legislation.
The BNG units on our farm in North Somerset are primarily focused on supporting you developments and construction projects across the National character area Bristol, Avon Valleys and Ridge (NCA code 118).
Wild Heritage BNG is based at Home Ground Farm, our family owned and run working farm situated on the North Somerset levels in the village of Kingston Seymour.
The farm covers a total of 32 hectares spread across an area that typifies the geographical make-up of the area, including many watercourses, known locally as “rhynes”.
At its closest point, the farm is 25m from the Severn Estuary Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Special Area of Conservation (SAC), Special Protection Area (SPA) and Ramsar site.
As a working farm, we currently rear a herd of mixed breed beef cattle, sheep, pigs and turkeys, but going back over the farm’s history, it has been run as a dairy farm and also used to rear buffalo.
